Old-Fashioned Pineapple Cream Pie

Pineapple pie filling
0 Mix sugar, flour, and salt.
1 Whisk in the reserved pineapple juice/syrup.
2 Cook over low heat, whisking constantly, until thick.
14 Whisk a little of the hot mixture into the egg to temper it then whisk the egg mixture back into the hot liquid in the pan.
15 Cook, whisking contantly about 2 more minutes.
3 Add mashmallows, stirring until they are melted.
4 Fold in pineapple.
5 Chill 1 hour.
6 Fold in whipped cream.
7 Spoon into prepared crust.
8 Chill 30 minutes. For best results chill overnight or freeze.
Nilla Wafer crust
10 Blend 12 of the 'Nilla Wafers to crumbs.
12 Pour the crumbs into a 8-inch pie pan.
13 Line the edge of the pie pan with whole 'Nilla Wafers standing around the edge.
